We are delighted to welcome our new columnist, Frank Wisdom. His initial essay, Employment Theory Needs Work, attacks the complacency of those who think we need not worry about technological unemployment because in the past new job creation always made up for jobs lost due to advancing technology. Wisdom argues that this time is different, explaining why going forward a fundamentally different economic environment and technology will create too few jobs suitable for typical workers.
